Sources of plant pesticides
Botanical pesticides are a branch of biological pesticides. It refers to the use of stable active components contained in plants, according to a certain method of the use of the recipient plant, to prevent or reduce the harm of diseases, insects, weeds and other harmful organisms plant source preparations. Various plant pesticides are usually not a single compound, but all or part of the organic matter of the plant organism, the composition is complex and changeable, but generally contained in alkaloids, glycosides, toxic proteins, volatile essential oils, tannins, resins, organic acids, esters, ketones, terpenes and other substances. In a broad sense, plants rich in these highly physiologically active substances are likely to be processed into pesticide preparations, and their quantities and substance categories are abundant.
